Budapest Treaty on the International Recognition of the Deposit of Microorganisms for the Purposes of Patent Procedure

Notification by the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland of Changes in Fees Charged by the Culture Collection of Algae and Protozoa (CCAP)

The Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) presents his compliments to the Minister for Foreign Affairs and has the honor to notify him of the receipt, on April 22, 1987, of the notification of the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, dated April 21, 1987, stating a change in the fees charged by the Culture Collection of Algae and Protozoa as an international depositary authority under the Budapest Treaty on the International Recognition of the Deposit of Microorganisms for the Purposes of Patent Procedure, done at Budapest on April 28, 1977, as amended on September 26, 1980. The text of that notification is attached.

The fees set forth in the said notification will apply as from the thirtieth day following the date (May 31, 1987) of the publication of the said fees in the May 1987 issue of Industrial Property/La Propriété industrielle, that is, as from June 30, 1987 (see Rule 12.2(c) of the Regulations under the Budapest Treaty). The said fees will replace the fees as published in the September 1982 issue of Industrial Property/La Propriété industrielle (see Budapest Notification No. 28 of August 11, 1982).

Text of the Notification of the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, dated April 21, 1987, stating a change in the fees charged by the Culture Collection of Algae and Protozoa (CCAP)

NOTIFICATION

The fees of the Culture Collection of Algae and Protozoa (CCAP), charged by the CCAP under Rule 12.1 of the Regulations under the Budapest Treaty on the International Recognition of the Deposit of Microorganisms for the Purposes of Patent Procedure, done at Budapest on April 28, 1977, as amended on September 26, 1980, and which were published in the September 1982 issue of Industrial Property, are changed as follows:

  Storage in accordance with the Treaty:  
    (a) cryopreserved strains £600
    (b) other methods of maintenance fee to be decided on an individual basis
  Issuance of a viability statement in those cases in which, in accordance with Rule 10.2, a fee may be charged £50
  Furnishing a sample in accordance with Rule 11.2 or 11.3 £40 plus actual cost of carriage
  Delivering an attestation in accordance with Rule 8.2 £20

The fees are subject to Value Added Tax where applicable.
