The Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) presents his compliments and has the honor to refer to the deposit, on October 1, 2020, of the declaration by the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, according to which it extended its ratification of the Protocol Relating to the Madrid Agreement Concerning the International Registration of Marks, adopted at Madrid on June 27, 1989 ("Madrid Protocol (1989)"), as amended on October 3, 2006, and on November 12, 2007, to the territories of Gibraltar and the Bailiwick of Guernsey, for the international relations of which the United Kingdom is responsible. In this respect, the Director General of WIPO has the honor to notify that the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland has deposited, on June 1, 2021, the following declaration:
- In accordance with Article 8(7)(a), the Bailiwick of Guernsey, in connection with each international registration in which it is mentioned under Article 3ter of the said Protocol, and in connection with the renewal of any such international registration, wishes to receive an individual fee, instead of a share in the revenue produced by the supplementary and complementary fees.
The declaration will enter into force, with respect to the Bailiwick of Guernsey, on September 1, 2021.
