The Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) presents his compliments to the Minister for Foreign Affairs and, in accordance with the provisions of the above international instrument adopted at Stockholm, has the honor to notify him that the Government of the United States of America, referring to the deposit, made on May 25, 1970, and notified on June 5, 1970 (Paris Notification No. 20), of its instrument of ratification, dated May 4, 1970, of the Paris Convention of March 20, 1883, for the Protection of Industrial Property, as revised at Stockholm on July 14, 1967, with a declaration to the effect that its ratification shall not apply to Articles 1 to 12, deposited, on May 22, 1973, its instrument of ratification, dated May 8, 1973, of these Articles 1 to 12 of the said Convention.
Pursuant to the provisions of Article 20(2)(c) and (3) of the Stockholm Act of the said Convention, Articles 13 to 30 entered into force, with respect to the United States of America, on September 5, 1970.
Pursuant to the provisions of Article 20(2)(c) of the said Act, Articles 1 to 12 will enter into force, with respect to the United States of America, three months after the date of this notification, that is, on August 25, 1973.
The instrument of ratification, deposited on May 22, 1973, was accompanied by the following declaration: "pursuant to Article 24 of the Convention as revised the United States declares that the Convention as revised shall be applicable to all the territories and possessions of the United States, including the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico".
