Paris Convention for the Protection of Industrial Property

Accession to Articles 1 to 12 of the Stockholm Act by Australia

The Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) presents his compliments to the Minister for Foreign Affairs and, in accordance with the provisions of the Stockholm Act (1967) of the Paris Convention for the Protection of Industrial Property of March 20, 1883, has the honor to notify him that the Government of Australia, referring to the deposit, made on May 10, 1972, and notified on May 25, 1972 (Paris Notification No. 38), of its instrument of accession to the said Convention, as revised at Stockholm on July 14, 1967, with a declaration to the effect that its accession shall not apply to Articles 1 to 12, deposited, on June 26, 1975, a declaration by which it extends the effects of its accession to the said Articles.

Pursuant to the provisions of Article 20(2)(c) and (3) of the Stockholm Act of the said Convention, Articles 13 to 30 entered into force, with respect to Australia, on August 25, 1972.

Pursuant to the provisions of Article 20(2)(c) of the said Act, Articles 1 to 12 will enter into force, with respect to Australia, three months after the date of this notification, that is, on September 27, 1975.
