The Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) presents his compliments to the Minister for Foreign Affairs and has the honor to notify him of the deposit by the Government of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria, on December 8, 1999, of its instrument of ratification of the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT), done at Washington on June 19, 1970, amended on September 28, 1979, and modified on February 3, 1984.
The said instrument of ratification contains the following declaration pursuant to Article 64(5) of the said Treaty: "The Government of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria does not consider itself bound by the provisions of Article 59 of the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT), done at Washington on June 19, 1970, amended on September 28, 1979, and modified on February 3, 1984. The Government of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria declares that, for any dispute to be referred to the International Court of Justice for its decision, the agreement of all parties to the dispute shall be necessary in each individual case." The said Treaty will enter into force, with respect to the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria, on March 8, 2000.
