The Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) presents his compliments to the Minister for Foreign Affairs and has the honor to notify the receipt, on March 5, 2024, of a communication from the Government of the Republic of Finland dated September 6, 2023, relating to changes in the address, the long-term storage conditions for deposited material and the schedule of fees charged by the VTT Culture Collection (VTTCC), an International Depositary Authority under the Budapest Treaty on the International Recognition of the Deposit of Microorganisms for the Purposes of Patent Procedure (Budapest Treaty), done at Budapest on April 28, 1977, and amended on September 26, 1980 (see Budapest Notification No. 270 of August 25, 2010).
According to Rule 12.2(c) of the Regulations under the Budapest Treaty, the new fees set forth in the communication shall take effect on April 26, 2024, that is, on the thirtieth day following the publication of the changes by the International Bureau.
In the communication, the Government of the Republic of Finland furnishes its assurances that the VTT Culture Collection (VTTCC) will continue to comply with the requirements specified in Article 6(2) of the Budapest Treaty.

The new storage conditions regarding the kind of microorganisms that may be deposited are as below:
Bacteria (including actinomycetes) and fungi (including yeasts) that can be preserved without significant damage to or loss of their properties or viability in liquid nitrogen or by freeze-drying.
