The Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) presents his compliments to the Minister for Foreign Affairs and has the honor to notify him of the deposit by the Government of the Republic of Guinea, on August 5, 1996, of its instrument of accession to the Strasbourg Agreement Concerning the International Patent Classification of March 24, 1971, as amended on September 28, 1979.
The said instrument contains the following declarations:
"In accordance with Article 4(4)(i) of the said Agreement, the Government of the Republic of Guinea declares that the Republic of Guinea does not undertake to include the symbols relating to groups or subgroups of the Classification in applications as referred in Article 4(3) of the said Agreement, which are only laid open for public inspection and in notices relating thereto.
"In accordance with Article 4(4)(ii) of the said Agreement, the Government of the Republic of Guinea declares that the Republic of Guinea does not undertake to include the symbols relating to groups and sub-groups of the Classification in the documents and notices referred to in Article (4)(3) of the said Agreement." The said Agreement will enter into force, with respect to the Republic of Guinea, on August 5, 1997.
