The Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) presents his compliments to the Minister for Foreign Affairs and has the honor to notify him of the deposit by the Government of the Eastern Republic of Uruguay, on September 21, 1979, of its instrument of ratification of the Berne Convention for the Protection of Literary and Artistic Works of September 9, 1886, as revised at Paris on July 24, 1971.
The Eastern Republic of Uruguay will belong to Class VII for the purpose of establishing its contribution towards the budget of the Berne Union.
The Paris Act (1971) of the said Convention will enter into force, with respect to the Eastern Republic of Uruguay, three months after the date of this notification, that is, on December 28, 1979.
