Join us in celebrating the change makers around the world who are helping to build our common future with innovation and creativity backed by IP rights.

World IP Day 2024 is an opportunity to shine a light on how intellectual property supports the innovation and creativity we need to create pathways to a sustainable future and meet the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which are a blueprint for people, prosperity, peace and our planet. 

How you can support this year's campaign

Get students talking about innovation, creativity and IP

If you’re working in a school or at a university, why not develop one or a series of interactive workshops, conferences, fairs, or exhibitions (virtual and/or in-person) on this year’s theme. Create an opportunity for young people to learn about the central role the innovation, creativity and IP rights play in enabling the progress needed to transition to a more sustainable future. 

Start a mentoring program

Create a space where aspiring inventors, creators and entrepreneurs can meet with experienced mentors on IP and business. Join forces with a local partner (e.g. law firm, chamber of commerce, technology hub, business incubator, or fab lab) and organize a free IP and business consultation or mentoring session for inventors, creators and entrepreneurs who want to learn more about how they can use IP to support their drive to build a more sustainable future.

Give voice to local inventors, creators and entrepreneurs

In collaboration with local inventors, creators, and entrepreneurs, get in touch with your national or local radio stations, online radios, and podcast programs and give a voice to the trailblazing inventors, creators, and entrepreneurs near you and create an opportunity for them to share how IP is supporting their efforts to support our common journey towards sustainability.

Organize a World IP Day event

Help build awareness and understanding of IP and how it can support the ambitions and goals of inventors, creators and entrepreneurs. Organize and host an event – a webinar, conference, workshop, roundtable discussion, competition, exhibition, and more. Bring together inspiring speakers and stimulate lively discussions on the central role the innovation, creativity and intellectual property play in driving the transition to a sustainable future.

Talk about #WorldIPDay on social media

Talk about World Intellectual Property Day with your friends and colleagues on social media platforms. Be sure to use #WorldIPDay and mention WIPO (@wipo on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok and Twitter) when promoting your event.
