Details Details Year of Version 2021 Dates Status as of: March 26, 2021 Amended up to: April 1, 2018 Assented: July 29, 1977 Type of Text Main IP Laws Subject Matter Patents (Inventions) Subject Matter (secondary) Enforcement of IP and Related Laws, IP Regulatory Body, Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR), Plant Variety Protection Notes This consolidated version of Patents Act 1977 (Chapter 37) takes into account amendments up to the "Higher Education and Research Act 2017 (Chapter 29)", which entered into force on April 1, 2018. Paragraphs 13(a), (b) and (c) under Schedule 12 (interpreting section 124(5)) of the said amending Act (Chapter 29) introduced amendments to paragraph 3 of section 41 (Amount of compensation) under the section relating employees's inventions, Part I (New Domestic Law) of the said consolidated version. This consolidated version of the Patents Act 1977 (Chapter 37) was updated on March 26, 2021 (see the list "Changes to legislation" found on pages 164-165 of the said consolidated version for detailed information).
