supplementing the Annex to Commission Regulation (EC) No 1107/96 on the registration of geographical indications and designations of origin under the procedure laid down in Article 17 of Regulation (EEC) No 2081/92

THE COMMISSION OF THE EUROPEAN COMMUNITIES,
Having regard to the Treaty establishing the European Community,
Having regard to Council Regulation (EEC) No 2081/92 of 14 July 1992 on the protection of geographical indications and designations of origin for agricultural products and foodstuffs(1), and in particular Article 17 (2) thereof,
Whereas additional information was requested concerning certain designations notified by the Member States under Article 17 of Council Regulation (EEC) No 2081/92 in order to make sure that they complied with Articles 2 and 4 of that Regulation; whereas this additional information shows that the designations comply with the said Articles; whereas they should therefore be registered and added to the Annex to Commission Regulation (EC) No 1107/96(2), as amended by Regulation (EC) No 1263/96(3);
Whereas, following the accession of three new Member States, the six-month period provided for in Article 17 of Council Regulation (EEC) No 2081/92 is to begin on the date of their accession; whereas some of the designations notified by those Member States comply with Articles 2 and 4 of that Regulation and should therefore be registered;
Whereas the measures provided for in this Regulation are in accordance with the opinion of the Regulatory Committee on Geographical Indications and Designations of Origin,
HAS ADOPTED THIS REGULATION:
Article 1
The designations in the Annex to this Regulation are hereby added to the Annex to Regulation (EC) No 1107/96.
Article 2
This Regulation shall enter into force on the day of its publication in the Official Journal of the European Communities.
This Regulation shall be binding in its entirety and directly applicable in all Member States.

complétant l'annexe du règlement (CE) n° 1107/96 de la Commission relatif à l'enregistrement des indications géographiques et des appellations d'origine au titre de la procédure prévue à l'article 17 du règlement (CEE) n° 2081/92

LA COMMISSION DES COMMUNAUTÉS EUROPÉENNES,
vu le traité instituant la Communauté européenne.
vu le règlement (CEE) n° 2081/92 du Conseil, du 14 juillet 1992 relatif à la protection des indications géographiques et des appellations d'origine des produits agricoles et des denrées alimentaires(1), et notamment son article 17 paragraphe 2.
considérant que, pour certaines dénominations notifiées par les États membres au sens de l'article 17 du règlement (CEE) n° 2081/92 des compléments d'informations ont été demandés en vue d'assures la conformité de ces dénominations aux articles 2 et 4 dudit règlement: que, suite à l'examen de ces informations complémentaires, il résulte que ces dénominations sont conformes aux dits articles: que, en conséquence, il est nécessaire de les enregistrer et de les ajouter à l'annexe du règlement (CE) n° 1107/96 de la Commission(2). modifié par le règlement (CE) n° 1263/96(3).
considérant que a la suite de l'adhésion de trois nouveaux États membres, le délai de six mois prévu à l'article 17 du règlement (CEE) n° 2081/92 est à compter à partir de la date de leur adhésion: que certaines des dénominations notifiées par ces États membres sont conformes aux articles 2 et 4 dudit règlement et qu'elles doivent donc être enregistrées:
considérant que les mesures prévues au présent règlement sont conformes à l'avis du comité des indications géographiques et des appellations d'origine.
A ARRÊTÉ LE PRÉSENT RÈGLEMENT:
Article premier
L'annexe du règlement (CE) n° 1107/96 est complétée par les dénominations figurant dans l'annexe du présent règlement.
Article 2
Le présent règlement entre en vigueur le jour de sa publication au Journal official des Communautés européennes.
Le présent règlement est obligatoire dans tous ses éléments et directement applicable dans tout État membre.
